Santa Barbara County
For years now we have been working on fine tuning the balance of our syrahs, striving for a fresher, livelier, more friendly and drinkable style. We have shifted from using vineyard sources in warm areas to ones located closer to the coast—they produce wines that are more expressive and peppery. This syrah was made from a blend of Santa Barbara’s finest vineyards, each of which I personally micromanaged from bud-break to harvest to ensure we ripened the highest quality grapes with the lowest yields.
The aroma has a subtle but persistent peppery, exotic spice aspect that is beguiling. And the flavor is packed with fine fruit and an alluring earthiness. It’s great now and will continue to evolve for many years to come.

“The 2012 Syrah Santa Barbara is exceptionally beautiful and polished. Bright cranberry, tangerine and floral notes are lifted and precise in this stunningly gorgeous, impeccable entry-level Syrah from Ojai. Vineyard sources include Bien Nacido, Roll Ranch and White Hawk.” – AG 92 Points
