What are the benefits of joining the wine club?
Joining the club comes with many perks:

What are the terms for joining the wine club?
They’re pretty straight-forward: by joining, you agree to receive at least two club packages before membership can be cancelled (or one for case/year). Early cancellations will be charged a fee that is scaled to benefits received thus far (tastings, free shipping, or discounts).
Is there a cost to join?
Nope, no cost to join! You’re just agreeing to purchase the wines, which are discounted 15%.
How many shipments are there each year?
There are two shipments per year for most clubs, in April and October. The only exception is the 1 case/year club, which is only in October.
How much does each shipment cost?
The Discovery club is $140-160 per four bottle shipment. The red and syrah clubs are $160-180. The case club default selections are around $550-600, but you can override our selections. Eight bottle clubs are doubles of the four, so double the prices listed above.
What if I want to customize my wine club shipment?
If you want to choose your wines, join one of the case clubs. We cannot offer customization on the other clubs because of myriad logistical challenges.
How do I receive my wine?
You can pick up within 90 days of charge date at our tasting room (after which, substitutions may be required). Or we can ship it to you via FedEx. Because someone 21 or older must sign for the package, we recommend shipping to business addresses. You can also ship to a local FedEx Office Print & Ship Center, or a local Walgreens.
Do I have to pay for shipping?
Wine Club members enjoy special shipping incentives – orders under 4 bottles ship ground for Flat-Rate $20, while orders over 6 bottles ship ground for FREE! If you’re a four bottle member, you can add other wines to your club package to take advantage of free shipping.
How do I add wines to my club package?
After you’ve logged into our website, click “My Account” and you’ll see your upcoming club package. Click “Edit my shipment,” then you’ll see the list of wines that can be added on. Unless you’re a case club member, the existing wines in the cart cannot be edited/deleted.
I bought wine already - why am I being charged again?
The wine club is an automated and recurring sales channel that is entirely separate from other channels. There’s no way to trigger an opt-out from the wine club package based on other purchases you’ve made online or in the tasting room throughout the year. Part of the terms of agreement for being in the wine club is participating in the wine club packages.

 

Tasting Room

Are children or pets allowed?
Yes, well-behaved children and pets are welcome. We ask that either remain by your table. When making a reservation, please include children in your guest count so that we can allocate a large enough table for your group.
How much does a tasting flight cost?
Our tasting options include a White Wine Flight ($20), a Red Wine Flight ($25), or our Library Tasting ($35) which features wines refined by careful cellaring. Each flight features four wines. The cost can be waived through bottle purchases. Wines by-the-glass are also available.
Are reservations required?
No, reservations are not required. They are highly recommended though, particularly on the weekends. Think of them as a free service: when you place a reservation, we guarantee that we’ll have a table for you.
Can I request inside or outside seating?
When you make your reservation there is a field to type such requests. We will do our best to honor them, but we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to do so. There are too many variables than can get in the way.
Are groups larger than 6 allowed?
Our tables seat up to six people. For larger groups of 7-14, we have our private tasting room that can be reserved for 90 minute slots.
Will we get to see the vineyard?
No, our tasting room is in the middle of Downtown Ojai. You might say we’re an “urban” tasting room, if that term can apply to Ojai…We cannot host visitors regularly at our vineyard & winery in Oak View, as zoning does not permit it.
Do you serve food or nibbles at the Tasting Room?
We do not, but you are welcome to bring in any food that you’d like. We’re surrounded by restaurants in downtown Ojai that can sell you food to-go. Or you can head to nearby Westridge Market to pick up charcuturie or deli sandwiches.
What restaurants nearby do you recommend?
For cheese plates, we recommend Sam’s Place or Marche Gourmet. For lunch, Little Sama and Ojai Rotie are the staff’s favorites.
Can I rent the tasting room for a private event?
Absolutely! Our venue is ideal for parties with up to 75 people. Visit our Private Events page for more details on pricing, etc.

 

Shipping

What carrier ships the wines?
We use FedEx. Ground shipping is default; all shipping promotions apply to ground in the contiguous US. Overnight, 2-Day, or Express services are all available for an additional charge.
What states do you ship to?
Most! The only exceptions that we cannot ship to are: AL, AR, DE, HI, IN, KY, ME, MS, NE, OK, RI, SD, UT, VT, WV
Do you ship internationally?
We do not. The customs process is too onerous in most cases.
What if I can't be there to sign for my shipment?
Home delivery can be tricky if someone isn’t consistently there. We recommend having your wine sent to a business address so that someone over 21 can sign for the package. If you’d rather not ship to your work, you can have your wine shipped to a nearby FedEx Office Print & Ship Center where they can hold it for five days. Walgreens offers the same service. Enter your tracking number at fedex.com and select “Manage Delivery,” then “Hold at Location” to choose a Walgreens or FedEx location.
I was told it's too hot to ship. When will my order be sent?
During the Summer months, it’s risky to ship wines. When they get too hot, the wine can become “cooked” or even push the cork out due to expansion. We won’t ship when it’s over 85 degrees for a significant stretch of the route. Each week we refer to this NWS map to check the main transit corridors (I5, I10, I15, I40) to ensure the wine can travel safely. When the wine is shipped you will receive tracking information.
Can I include a gift message with my shipment?
Absolutely. On the checkout page there’s a field for you to type whatever message you’d like. We’ll print it with our letterhead to include with the package.
My order was returned to you. What can I do?
If your order was returned, you will have to pay the shipping costs to have it resent. We recommend having your order sent to a local Walgreens or FedEx Office Print & Ship Center if it’s difficult to sync up with FedEx at the original address.
Do you ship corporate/group gifting orders?
Yes, this is one of our specialties! Many other wineries contract with fulfillment houses that store and ship their wines, whereas we store and ship at our own warehouse in Ventura. We can modify packaging (with enough lead time), include notes or other assets, and handle the shipping for you. Email nick@ojaivineyard.com with any inquiries.
