Come down from the holidays—or extend them!—with poetry and cello at The Ojai Vineyard Tasting Room on Jan. 11th, from 6pm to 8pm.
Catherine Abbey Hodges will read poems from her new collection, Empty Me Full (Gunpowder Press 2024), and Rob Hodges will improvise on cello. Wine will be available for purchase by-the-glass or bottle, as will copies of Empty Me Full.
Rob Hodges is a cellist and singer with extensive performance experience in the United States and abroad. He earned his PhD in ethnomusicology from UCSB following several years of teaching in Sumatra, Indonesia. A labyrinth designer, builder, and walk facilitator, he pursues a range of nature-focused arts and crafts and continues exploration with the cello and voice from his home in the Sequoia foothills.
Catherine Abbey Hodges is the winner of the inaugural Barry Spacks Poetry Prize from Gunpowder Press for her book Instead of Sadness, and the author of three other full-length collections and two chapbooks. Her poems appear widely in literary journals and anthologies. Emeritus Professor of English at Porterville College and co-founder of Canyon Wren Writing Workshops, she writes, edits, and teaches from the foothills of Sequoia National Forest.
No reservations required. We hope to see you there!
Cheers,
The Ojai Vineyard Crew
